Facilities Charges

NWEC is a public facility for education and learning. When using the NWEC, please observe good manners and be careful not to behave in a way that bothers other groups using the facilities.

We have the user classification system and accompanying charges.

Special Purpose Users:
  • Persons using the facilities to undertake study or training relating to women, family, gender equality;
  • Persons using the National Women's Education Center for study and training which in part includes a program(s) concerning women, family, and gender equality issues;
  • Persons using the facilities in conjunction with programs concerning women, family, and gender equality organized by national or local government organizations.
General users:

All other users for whom none of the above categories applies are classified as general users.

Accommodation Facilities

Charges shown below for use of the accommodation facilities are on a per night per person basis from check in time at 3:00p.m. to 10:00a.m. the next day.

Information Center for Women's Education

Information Center for Women's Education

The Information Center for Women's Education collects, compiles and disseminates Japanese and foreign information and materials to be used for learning, research and study on woman and the family. It also creates various types of databases, which can be viewed on the NWEC website.

Information Services

Services include open-access browsing, internal lending, and lending through women's centers, libraries, etc.

Reference service:

Responds to various questions concerning use of the Center's materials and databases to assist users' learning, research, and study. Inquires may be asked in person, by telephone or in writing (email or regular mail).

Photocopying service:

A photocopying service is available for materials belonging to the Center. Requests can be made in person, by telephone or in writing.

On Your Utility Usage

Expenses

Accommodation 2,200yen ~ 4,000yen per person, per night.
Rooms can be used from 15:00 through 10:00 the following morning. Rooms cannot be used outside of these times, even When staying for consecutive nights, due to maintenance and cleaning.
Meals Approximately 700yen ~ 1,000yen per person.
Please use the cafeteria-style restaurant on site.
Please refrain from bringing food and drink into the restaurant.
(Breakfast 7:30 ~ 8:30; Lunch 11:30 ~ 13:30; Dinner 18:00 ~ 20:00)

Foods are not allowed in facility except;
-foods that can be cooked in the kitchen room at NWEC
-snacks that can be sold at the shops in NWEC
-beverages in plastic bottles

Eating and drinking are prohibited in Multimedia Room,
Information Center for Women¡Çs Education and Women¡Çs Archive Center
Exhibition Room.

Only food that is sold at the shops in NWEC is allowed in residence rooms and lounges in the main building and seminar complex.
Please take your litter home.

Drinking alcohol in residence rooms is prohibited.

Things to Bring

Insurance Card (for emergencies); articles required for your training course; appropriate clothes and shoes for sports, if necessary; toiletries, soap, towels, pajamas, standard medicines, etc, if program includes accommodation.

  • Yukata and bath towels are available for rent (150yen per yukata; 80yen per bath towel). Communal baths can be used between 17:30 and 22:30.

Hair dryers are available at the front desk. It is free for lending. However the numbers are limited.

We welcome guests from all over the world and we believe that you will not bother other guests. Playing musical instruments, dancing and singing Karaoke are prohibited in public areas. Please reserve a musical room for any group activities.

Any behaviors against morals are prohibited.

In case of emergency

When you are arrived in your room, please check the two emergency exits and
the evacuation route map attached to the room door.

Parking lot beside the main gate is a place for emergency evacuation. When earthquake occurs, please follow the instructions by the person in charge.
