The FY2009 Empowerment Seminar for Women Leaders in the Asia Pacific Region was attended by 11 women leaders working toward the eradication of Violence Against Women (VAW) at national machineries, NGOs and educational institutions in eight countries in the Asia Pacific region (Indonesia, Korea, Cambodia, Thailand, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, Bangladesh and the Philippines).
Participants presented country reports on the second day of training in an effort to share information on their respective countries with each other.
In these reports, participants summarized information pertaining to the status of VAW, relevant policies and challenges facing their respective countries.
