# Volunteers are welcome
NWEC considers voluntary activity to be closely linked to life-long learning,
development of women's ability and women's participation in society. Volunteers
have been welcomed, either as individuals or groups, since August 1978.
As of April 2002, 54 individuals and 6 groups (80 members) were registered
as volunteers.
Meetings are held biannually for the benefit of those interested in joining volunteer activities.
# Cooperation between Volunteers and NWEC
Valuing our volunteers as important partners, NWEC supports them in various
ways, as mentioned below, to assist them in further promoting their voluntary
activities.
1) Information and exchange
Quarterly liaison meetings are organized and volunteer room has been set
up within the premises to encourage smooth communication between volunteers
and the Center and among volunteers.
2) Research activities
'Volunteer Activity Study Meetings' are organized to give both volunteers
and receiving parties to learn together about volunteering.
3) Backing the Initiative
NWEC encourages initiatives of volunteers and gives our full backing for their activities and proposals.
4) Publication of Activities
Volunteer Corner in 'NWEC News' and the volunteer activity information is displayed in the main building. |
